A new chapter
WebGuys is my technical portfolio and a space for sharing what I know. I run it as a one-person brand, from code to strategy, from the first line in the editor to the conversation with a client about pricing.
I’m not an agency pretending to have twenty people on the team. I’m one person who deliberately chose to build this way, and I’ve already written about why that works in a previous post on solo development. WebGuys is where I collect what I’ve learned along the way: the technical, the business side, and the parts that are harder to put into words.
Where this blog comes from
Over the past months I’ve been building several things in parallel that look very different on the surface but share a common thread. TherLMS, an online course platform I’m building from the ground up: Next.js, PHP, MySQL, payment integrations, multi-tenant architecture. Inner Work, a mobile app that doesn’t ask “how do you feel,” but “is it true,” drawing on the work of Krishnamurti, Anthony De Mello, Byron Katie, Eckhart Tolle, and a few other thinkers whose approach to questioning beliefs matters to me. On top of that, client projects, sites that need to be conceived, designed, and shipped from scratch.
The common thread is that in every one of these projects I combine two things that rarely go together: solid, full-stack engineering, and an understanding of how people actually think and make decisions, whether that’s someone buying a course or someone looking for insight into themselves. This blog is where those two worlds meet.
Along the way, a fair number of other things have come together too, smaller and bigger: EspanaSol.es, a site for luxury real estate listings in Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, and Dubai, Mostprzemian.pl, a project around grief and life transitions, Kateart.pl, a Print on Demand shop, and most recently “Przewodnik po Essaouira”, a PWA app for planning the best places to see in that Moroccan city. And a few others I’ll probably write about here eventually.
